Suite N°4 sits under the roof and has a private elevator. That is not a luxury detail but a practical point: ski boots, suitcases and children do not have to go up the stairs.
Outside, the suite opens on three sides: a terrace facing south and two loggias, one east and one west. Morning light and evening light in the same apartment, and with 120m² enough room for four people to spend the day apart if they wish.
Under the vaulted ceiling stands a real wood-burning fireplace against a wall of split-face stone. Suites N°1 and N°2 have an electric fireplace; here wood burns. The fireplace is three-sided and visible from the living area as much as from the dining area.
The panoramic windows carry on into the dining area, with a view over Lech and, in winter, the snow-covered panorama. There are copper pendant lights, a winter lounge and a living area by the fire.
N°4 has no Finnish sauna but a steam sauna, and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. If after a day in the cold you prefer moist heat to dry, that is the difference from Suites N°1 and N°3. The bathroom has a double sink and a rain shower.
The kitchen is a built-in kitchen, and there is a wine bar as well; a wine cooler and a minibar belong to the suite as they do to every suite, and so does underfloor heating. Over five to seven nights that is the difference between a hotel room and an apartment: coffee before the house is awake, and in the evening the choice of whether to go downstairs at all.
The restaurant is in the same house and is open Monday to Saturday; Sunday is a rest day, and no dinner is served then. Half board can be added to your stay, with that Sunday as the exception.
The valley station of the Zuger Bergbahn is about a two minute walk away, and the ski rooms in the house are heated and ventilated and have boot warmers. One space in the underground garage belongs to each suite. Additional spaces can be booked for a fee, subject to availability. There are charging points for electric cars in the garage, and dogs are welcome.
